Genetic and Genomic Testing
Because 1 in 9 men have a chance of being diagnosed with prostate cancer and because a man is 2-3 times more likely to develop prostate cancer if his father or brother had it, genetic/genomic testing is used to identify risks.
Tests like those listed below are used to help with earlier identification of men who may be at risk for prostate cancer. Insights from the test results also help us identify the most appropriate targeted care and treatment options based on your genetic makeup.
- lnvitae: This is germline testing for specific genes performed via blood or saliva.
- Decipher: This helps stratify the risk of prostate cancer at initial diagnosis or at the time of removal of the prostate via prostatectomy.
- Oncotype DX: Genetic based test to help make treatment decisions based upon genetic makeup of the prostate cancer.
